Get your sweat on: Caring for your hair around your exercise routine

Game, set, match! Wimbledon is well under way, and while I’ve been loving witnessing Serena Williams’ epic backhands, it’s actually her off-court skills that have captured my attention.

The tennis star always serves amazing hair – not easy when you’re busy working up a serious sweat. Here’s how you can keep your hair looking luscious, all while maintaining the exercise routine of a champion.

Always accessorise

That’s right, headbands are the perfect accessory for when you’re getting your sweat on. They prevent any loose hairs or excess moisture from getting into your eyes, and therefore can help you maintain your focus when you’re in the zone. I recommend that you choose one made out of a breathable, absorbent fabric which feels soft against your skin.

Style your hair up

It might sound obvious, but there are so many options when it comes to styling your hair away from your face. I love a classic sleek topknot, but if your hair falls below your shoulders, you might want to turn your hand to French braids. There are so many easy-to-follow tutorials on YouTube – why not give them a try?

Pay attention to the products

Stop what you’re doing – and back away from your usual hair care routine. On this particular occasion, less is more. Avoid using too many different products in your hair which could make your it look greasy, and instead opt for a quick spritz of dry shampoo after a workout, holding the bottle around six inches away from your hair. My all-time favourite is by Balmain.

So what are you waiting for? The ball is in your court!

Bisous,
